In response to McDonald’s recent crypto outreach, Elon Musk announced that he would eat the “happy meal” of the famous fast food chain McDonald’s if they accept payment in Dogecoin. Recently, Musk has repeatedly voiced his support for Dogecoin. However, his statements do not have as much impact on the cryptocurrency market as before. The price of Dogecoin has barely reacted to the news this time around, just like when Tesla accepted payment in Dogecoin last month.
The McDonald’s Twitter account posted a tweet asking about the crypto community on January 24 as the value of most coins fell along with the stock market. That tweet was apparently the inspiration for Elon Musk when he suggested the fast food giant accept Dogecoin, the controversial cryptocurrency of 2021. His electric car company Tesla has also accepted Dogecoin. as a form of payment for certain products.
In response to an offer from Elon Musk, McDonald’s joked that they would accept DOGE if Tesla accepted grimacecoin. Although this was just a joke, immediately a series of tokens were launched named Grimacecoin. A few of them hit a market cap of over $1 million on the first day.
Some famous names such as Burger King, Huobi, President of El Salvador also offered to support Musk’s statement. The Dogecoin community is also running campaigns calling for Dogecoin acceptance to McDonald’s and some other big names.
The wave of participation in the cryptocurrency market is spreading to world famous brands. Google, Facebook, Twitter are approaching NFT and Crypto application solutions. Big football teams like Argentina, Mu, AC Milan, A.S. Roma have also issued their own Tokens, NFTs. It is forecasted that after the Bitcoin Winter is over, 2022 – 2023 will be the blooming period of the application of Crypto and NFTs.
